Anaheim, CA

One form. Up to three Anaheim roofing quotes.

Three quick questions about the roof, then the address and where to send the quotes. Up to three local contractors get in touch — no more than that, ever.

Free · Takes about a minute

What is going on with the roof?

Free, and there is no obligation to hire anyone.

Step 1 of 6

What best describes your home?

Different buildings need different crews, so this is the first thing a roofer asks.

No cost to you. Contractors pay us, you do not.

The short version

You are not committing to anything.Take the numbers, use them, and walk away if you like.
Three, and no more.Enough to compare properly, few enough that your phone stays usable.
Quick, then quiet.A minute to send, and the calls start today rather than next week.

Three steps, about a minute

You will not speak to us at any point. You fill this in, and roofing companies get in touch directly.

Tell us about the roof

Three taps. The questions exist so contractors know whether to send a repair tech or a re-roof estimator.

Matched to nearby contractors

Independent local companies, chosen on where they work and what they specialise in. Emergencies go out first.

You compare and decide

Three quotes at most. They come out, look at the roof, and give you a number. Nothing obliges you to accept any of them.

Not sold as a list. Your information goes to the contractors quoting your job, and to nobody else.

Licence and cover on file. A current state licence number and insurance certificates, before any request reaches them.

Nothing is booked. You are agreeing to be quoted, not to have work done.

Quick, then quiet. A minute to send, and the calls start today rather than next week.

What roofs are up against in Anaheim

Sitting around 19 miles back from the water softens the salt but not the onshore weather. Anaheim sits in Orange County with a population of around 344,561. Lots are larger here, and roofs tend to be bigger than the national average as a result.

The problem that comes up first here is the autumn offshore winds, which find anything already loose. They also drive ember risk, which is why vent screening and Class A assemblies matter more here than the colour of the covering.

Behind it: shaded slopes that never really dry out. Slopes that never get direct sun stay wet for hours after the fog burns off, and that is where moss, lifted shingles and soft decking start.

None of which is unusual for a roofer who works here every week. It is only unusual to a crew who does not.

Ember and wildfire exposure

Most houses lost to wildfire are lost to embers arriving ahead of the fire, not to the fire itself.

Installed cost ranges, Anaheim, CA. One square = 100 square feet.
CoveringPer squareTypical whole roofExpected life
Architectural asphalt shingleThe default choice on most American homes, and usually the right one.$675 – $975$13,000 – $29,50025 to 30 years
3-tab asphalt shingleThe cheapest thing that still counts as a roof. Fewer and fewer crews will install it.$550 – $700$10,500 – $21,00015 to 20 years
Impact-rated asphalt shingleClass 4 rated. Often earns an insurance discount where hail is a factor.$850 – $1,300$16,000 – $39,00025 to 35 years
Concrete tileThe tile lasts far longer than the underlayment beneath it, which is the catch.$1,200 – $2,100$23,000 – $63,00040 to 60 years
Clay barrel tileOften salvaged and re-laid over new underlayment rather than replaced.$1,700 – $3,300$32,500 – $99,00050 to 80 years

What moves the number

  • How many old layers have to come off before the new one goes on
  • Ventilation work, if the old roof was cooking itself from underneath
  • How much decking turns out to be soft once the covering is stripped
  • The number of penetrations: chimneys, skylights, vents, solar mounts
  • Where you land in the season; crews discount when the phone is quiet

Common repairs

Emergency tarp-over$425 – $1,200
Small leak, flashing or a few shingles$500 – $1,400
Valley, chimney or skylight reflash$1,000 – $3,000
Section replacement, one slope$1,500 – $5,300

What is behind these figures. National installed ranges, adjusted for California labour and material costs and for how Anaheim is actually built. They are a sanity check on the quotes you receive, nothing more. No contractor is bound by them.

Why bother with the middle step

It costs you nothing

Contractors pay for introductions. You pay nothing at any point, and we would rather say that plainly than bury it.

You are not on a list

Three contractors is a hard cap. It is the difference between comparing quotes and being sold to for a fortnight.

Right trade, first time

Flat roofs, tile relays and metal are separate trades. The questions exist so a shingle crew is not sent to a low-slope job.

You stay in control

You hire the contractor directly, on your terms. We are not a party to the contract and we take no cut of the job.

Is your roof due? A two-field check

When it was last done and what it is made of gets you most of the way to the answer. No contact details, nothing sent anywhere — the arithmetic happens in your browser.

Do not know? Use the year the house was built. That is what a roofer assumes until they get up there.

Not sure between shingle types? Architectural is the thicker, layered-looking one and is the usual answer.

Frequently asked

It is leaking right now. What do I do?

Contain the water, photograph everything, and get the request in marked as an emergency. A tarp is the right first job. The permanent repair is a separate conversation and a separate price.

What warranty should I expect?

Ask for both in writing: the material warranty from the manufacturer and the workmanship warranty from the contractor. The second one is the one that matters in year three, and it is only as good as the company behind it.

How quickly will someone call?

Usually within the hour during working hours. If you marked the job as an emergency it goes to the front of the queue and is normally picked up faster than that.

I rent. Can I use this?

You can submit it, but the owner has to authorise any work, so the useful move is to get the landlord to make the request or to give you permission in writing first. Contractors will not start work for a tenant.

Are you a roofing company?

No. Anaheim Roof Works is a free matching service. We do not hold a roofing licence, we do not employ crews, and we never come to your house. We pass your request to independent local contractors who do the work and who you hire directly.

Do you cover the whole Orange County area?

We match across Anaheim and the neighbouring communities in Orange County. Put the ZIP of the property in and it will route to whoever actually covers it.

How many contractors will contact me?

No more than three. We picked that number because two quotes is not enough to spot an outlier and five is an ordeal.

Why three quotes and not one?

Because one price tells you nothing. Three tells you where the middle is, and the outliers are informative in both directions — the very cheapest is usually leaving something out, and the most expensive should be able to say what you are getting for it.

How long should a roof last here?

Rated life and real life are different numbers. Here, ordinary rated life is a fair guide, provided the attic breathes. Ventilation and the quality of the installation move that more than the brand does.
